Julian Champagnie has become a key part of San Antonio’s young core as the Spurs look to return to the NBA Finals.
The San Antonio Spurs plan to keep one of their breakout sharpshooters around for a bit longer. Multiple sources report that Julian Champagnie will sign a new three-year, $45 million contract that will keep him with the team through the 2028-29 season.

The 25-year-old forward averaged 11.1 points and 5.8 rebounds for San Antonio this season, both career highs. He kept up the performance in the playoffs, posting 11.2 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 39.6% from 3-point range in helping the Spurs reach the NBA Finals.
San Antonio reportedly declined Champagnie’s $3 million team option for this season before signing him to the three-year extension.
