Two of the Brooklyn Nets’ young frontcourt players will reportedly be in the mix a while longer.
Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Nets have agreed to deals with center Day’Ron Sharpe and forward Josh Minott. Sharpe intends to sign a two-year, $20 million deal, but the Nets are declining Sharpe’s option for next season to be able to sign him to the deal. Minott will also have his team option declined, but will reportedly sign a two-year, $9 million deal once players can do so on July 6.

Sharpe, the No. 29 pick in the 2021 Draft, has only played for the Nets in his career and posted a career-best 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in 2025-26. He shot 60.1% overall and also notched a career-best 1.1 steals per game last season as well.
Minott was a second-round pick (No. 45) for the Charlotte Hornets in the 2022 Draft, but was dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves shortly thereafter. He played his first three seasons with Minnesota, then signed with the Boston Celtics as a free agent last summer and was traded to the Nets at the trade deadline.
In Brooklyn, Minott excelled by posting a career-best 10.8 ppg and 16 games while shooting 49.1% overall, 39.5% on 3-pointers and posted 2.5 rpg as well.
The duo will be a part of Brooklyn’s frontline in 2026-27, which got a major boost with the reported trade that brings aboard former All-Star forward Julius Randle from Minnesota.
