  • Giants RT Jermaine Eluemunor after Big Blue added Francis Mauigoa: ‘Our offensive line can be a top 10 line’

    The New York Giants fortified the offensive line this offseason, re-signing right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor and drafting Francis Mauigoa with the No. 10 overall pick.

    While Mauigoa will eventually take over the tackle spot, he’ll start at right guard, next to Eluemunor, who is excited about what the rookie can bring to the line.

    “He’s a large dude, which kind of fits my game, fits my mentality,” Eluemunor told Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post on Monday. “I’m really excited to have him. I’ve been teaching [teammates] the ropes for a while now — I’m pretty good at it — so I think we’ll create a good partnership.”

    The Giants inked Eluemunor to a three-year, $39 million contract this offseason. With two years of guarantees, there is a window for Big Blue to let Mauigoa get his feet wet before letting him take over the tackle job. Eluemunor noted that at 31, he doesn’t view himself as an older, mentor-type player, but is willing to teach what he’s learned over his 9-year career.

    “Mentorship sometimes means you’re towards the end of your career, and I’m nowhere near that. I’m right in the middle of it. So, for me, I’m going to bring him along with me. He’s going to be right next to me, hopefully for a long time.”

    Eluemunor is coming off his best season as a pass protector, allowing 19 QB pressures, a career-low in a season he’s taken at least 500 snaps. As solid as he’s been in pass protection, he does struggle in run blocking and was flagged 14 times last season.

    At the onset, plugging Mauigoa at right guard fills a massive hole on the interior of the offensive line. But his talent suggests it won’t be too long before he leapfrogs Eluemunor for the tackle spot opposite Andrew Thomas.

    In the meantime, on paper, the Giants will have their best blocking crew in years.

    “I feel like our offensive line can be a top 10 line,” Eluemunor said.

    If he’s close to correct, it would be a piece of the puzzle for a potential swift turnaround under John Harbaugh.

Allí añadió: «mañana nos convertiremos en la primera empresa que cotiza en Estados Unidos en tokenizar toda su estructura de capital; la próxima evolución de los mercados de capitales ya está aquí».

    Aunque todavía no se conocen mayores detalles oficiales de esta novedad, lo dicho por Farley (expresidente de la Bolsa de Nueva York) adelanta cuestiones importantes.

    La tokenización de la estructura de capital consiste en representar digitalmente los activos financieros de una organización como acciones, deuda y derivados, mediante tokens. El proceso facilita liquidación instantánea de operaciones, negociación ininterrumpida y automatización de tareas complejas como, por ejemplo, pago de dividendos.

    De acuerdo con Wall Street Journal, para este proceso de tokenización, el exchange de criptomonedas llegó a un acuerdo con la compañía Equiniti (proveedora de servicios para accionistas y pensiones) por 4.200 millones de dólares.

    Como consecuencia de esta alianza, Bullish y Equiniti podrían ofrecer a los emisores corporativos servicios completos de tokenización, incluyendo la negociación de títulos valor las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana.

    El anuncio, dado en la tarde-noche de ayer, todavía no ha impactado en las acciones de Bullish (BLSH). Durante la jornada bursátil de hoy, 5 de mayo, se verá cuál es la repercusión en los inversionistas.     Tal como CriptoNoticias lo ha estado reportando recientemente, la tokenización es una industria creciente a nivel mundial. Por ejemplo, ayer, este portal informó que el operador de infraestructura financiera de Wall Street, Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), iniciará en julio de 2026 operaciones limitadas con títulos valor (securities) tokenizados.

    Y no solo en Estados Unidos vive la tokenización. Países como Argentina están modificando sus estructuras regulatorias para poder darle paso a esta tendencia.

    Vlad Tenev, CEO de la plataforma de compraventa de activos financieros Robinhood, está convencido de que se está gestando un «superciclo de tokenización» que se extenderá por varios años.

    La adopción de bitcoin (BTC) como activo de reserva estratégica ha dejado de ser una simple narrativa para convertirse en una realidad contable. Durante el primer trimestre de 2026, las tesorerías corporativas marcaron un hito histórico al adquirir un total neto de 50.351 BTC.

    Según datos de Bitwise, este movimiento eleva las tenencias totales de las entidades comerciales por encima de los 1,1 millones de unidades de la moneda digital, reflejando una fase de absorción institucional sin precedentes en el mercado de activos digitales.

    Esta acumulación masiva no responde a movimientos especulativos del sector minorista, sino a un posicionamiento estratégico de largo plazo. Las compañías están ejecutando una compra anticipada de suministros ante la expectativa de una mayor demanda global.

    Al integrar este activo digital en sus hojas de balance, las instituciones financieras y corporaciones de gran escala buscan asegurar su participación en una red cuya escasez es programática. Este comportamiento indica, además, que la convicción sobre el protocolo creado por Satoshi Nakamoto como reserva de valor se está fortaleciendo a pesar de las fluctuaciones de precio a corto plazo.

    Un actor que destaca por su agresividad en el mercado es la empresa Strategy, del bitcoiner Michael Saylor, que por sí sola adquirió 89.602 bitcoin en el primer trimestre del año. La firma inició enero con 672.497 monedas y cerró el mes de marzo con un total de 762.099 BTC bajo su custodia, según el seguimiento del portal BitcoinTreasuries.

    Asimismo, las compañías que cotizan en bolsa ya acumulan un total de 1,2 millones de BTC hasta la fecha, según la misma fuente, lo que demuestra un apetito institucional que no parece detenerse.

    El impacto técnico de esta tendencia es significativo para la estructura del mercado. La absorción constante por parte de las tesorerías provoca un bloqueo del suministro circulante, conocido como float, en las plataformas de intercambio. Al reducirse la oferta disponible para la venta, la estructura de precios tiende a endurecerse, lo que suele resultar en una disminución de la volatilidad a largo plazo.

    No obstante, esta concentración de activos digitales genera debates dentro del ecosistema. Se ha advertido, por ejemplo, sobre el riesgo de centralización, pues la posesión de grandes cantidades de la moneda digital en manos de pocas juntas directivas podría otorgarles un poder desproporcionado sobre la liquidez, tal como ha informado CriptoNoticias.

Al retirar de circulación una cantidad tan significativa de monedas, las corporaciones están alterando la dinámica de oferta y demanda global, priorizando la solidez financiera institucional sobre las dudas de la centralización.

    The timing of Patrick Mahomes‘ season-ending knee injury, which took down the MVP quarterback in Week 15, would normally put playing Week 1 the following season out of question. Patrick Mahomes is not normal.

    General manager Brett Veach told SiriusXM NFL Radio that Mahomes is “way ahead of schedule” in his rehab.

    “I think it wouldn’t surprise you guys, the way it’s been really inspiring just to see — my mind, I’ve been there before with Pat, he had that dislocated knee and worked his tail off and came back in three weeks. I knew that this bump on the road wouldn’t slow him down at all. But I mean, this guy has been in the building — especially like a player that has accomplished everything and can do anything he wants. He can hire his own trainers and be wherever he wants; he’s in our building every single day. Even when he goes away for a few days, say, to Dallas for a weekend with his family, he takes one of our trainers with him. So, needless to say, he’s way ahead of schedule. I think the biggest challenge that we’re going to have is protecting him from himself. I’m sure when we get to St. Joseph, Missouri, for training camp, he’s gonna want to be full go, but we are going to have to hold him back a little. And again, I don’t want to put a timetable on it, but I think you guys know the type of person and competitor that Pat is. I would just say, we are in a really good place right now.”

    The comments come after Andy Reid tread lightly last week when discussing whether the Kansas City Chiefs would have their star quarterback participate in OTA practices later this month, noting that he’s in a “good position” to partake in certain aspects but wouldn’t commit. It appears as though one of the biggest challenges for the Chiefs brass at this point is ensuring they don’t let the line out too long for Mahomes, ensuring a steady pace to prevent a setback.

    From the moment Mahomes went down and the Chiefs’ season was lost, the question was whether the quarterback would be ready for Week 1. The next timeline update will be to see what the club allows him to do during OTAs in three weeks and minicamp next month (June 9-11). We’re still a ways away from knowing for sure, but it’s sounding more and more like Justin Fields will be caddying, not playing, when K.C. opens the season.

  • NBA Playoffs: What to expect in Pistons-Cavaliers series

    The Pistons powered past the Magic in Game 7 to advance to the East semifinals.

    It might be surprising that these two franchises, given their geographic and NBA (Central Division) proximity, only have met four previous times in the postseason. Then you realize that in their 56 years of shared existence (Cleveland joined via expansion in 1970-71), both have qualified for the playoffs in the same season 14 times.

    Heading into Game 1 Tuesday at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena (7 ET, Peacock/NBCSN), the other showdowns came in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2016. The Pistons took the first, the Cavaliers the next three, and Cleveland’s playoff record vs. Detroit in games is 15-6. That includes an active streak of 12 consecutive victories.

    The most recent history is a 2-2 split of the 2025-26 regular season. Each won on the other’s floor and the gap across four games was 18 points in favor of the Cavs. Two sports-crazed, rust-belt cities should be rocking.

    Top storyline

    Detroit’s grit vs. Cleveland’s finesse. That’s a description of this matchup in broad strokes, anyway, for the purpose of assessing the teams’ differences. Detroit has a dynamite lead guard in Cade Cunningham, equally effective spraying the ball to teammates or creating his own shot. The Cavaliers have profound size up front in Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. But it was the Pistons’ chesty defense that made Orlando so catchable from that 3-1 deficit in the first round, just as it was Cleveland’s vast offensive weaponry that separated the Cavs from Toronto over seven games.

    The Pistons limited the Magic to 45.6% shooting in the paint in the just-completed first round —  which was, as noted by our John Schuhmann, the worst mark of any team in any playoff series in seven years. Cleveland has the tools to play any offensive style demanded, from ball-dominant guard play to pounding it inside to the bigs to raining 3-pointers. Put any of 3-4 Cavs secondary scorers around Paolo Banchero and the Magic, not the Pistons, might have advanced. Both these teams are stepping up in weight class from the opponents they faced in Round 1.

    Keep your eyes on

    Ausar Thompson in whichever matchup. Pick your favorite Cavaliers poison: Donovan Mitchell inventing shots on his way to the rim, James Harden stepping back and drawing fouls, Mobley with his new-age Chris Bosh work down low or Allen rim-running for throw-downs and putbacks. Now overlay a transparency of Ausar Thompson’s defensive talents. The ultra-athletic wing is seen as the Pistons’ universal antidote, best applied to whatever ails them in a given moment. On ball or as a helper, on the perimeter or in the paint, Thompson is an extinguisher who finished third in Kia Defensive Player of the Year voting. He has the energy to contribute in a variety of ways on offense and he fouled out of only one game all season. Mobley and Allen will need to win their minutes vs. Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart, while Thompson gets spread thin against Mitchell and Harden.

    One more thing to watch for each team

    For Detroit: Jalen Duren. Detroit fans kept waiting for the glowering Duren to put even some bark in his game vs. Orlando, never mind bite. He perked up in Game 7 (15 points, 15 rebounds) but that’s the level the Pistons need out of him four times in this round. Allen is coming off one of his best games ever, a 22-point, 19-rebound outing in Game 7, and he’s making 65% of his shots this spring. Allen is a more challenging test for Duren than was Wendell Carter Jr. The Pistons center earned himself a reprieve … until Tuesday.

    For Cleveland: The Hall of Fame backcourt. This is why Cleveland acquired Harden in February and this is the time of year to demonstrate it in full. Mitchell and Harden were excellent in Games 1 and 2 vs. Toronto, scoring 112 points on 41-for-75 shooting and hitting 15 of their combined 32 3-pointers. By Games 6 and 7 though, the production had waned: 80 points on 28-for-69 shooting and just six threes in 28 tries. Harden is 17 years in search of a championship ring. Mitchell has never advanced past the conference semis. They’ll both get earfuls that last for months (or longer) unless they boost the Cavaliers to the next level.

    One key number to know

    9.8 — Cade Cunningham leads the playoffs in time of possession, having had the ball for an average of 9.8 minutes per game (24% of his minutes on the floor) against Orlando. That was up from 7.2 minutes per game (third in the league, 21% of his minutes) in the regular season.

    The Pistons set 363 ball-screens for Cunningham over the seven games, 120 more than any other team set for a single player in the first round. And the Magic didn’t force the ball out of his hands, using blitz coverage on only 5.5% of those ball screens. Cunningham ranked second (behind Joel Embiid) in usage rate in the first round.

    Over their four regular-season meetings, the Cavs blitzed Cunningham on 10.4% of his ball-screens, not a ton, but the 10th highest rate among the 27 teams he played against. He had the ball for 8.9 minutes per 100 possessions, his third lowest rate vs. those 27 opponents.

    The pick

    Pistons in seven. The Cavaliers exhaled more than the Pistons when they survived their first-round scare, because they’re trying to get this right to make for some recent postseason disappointments. Some Detroit backers were ready to throw in the towel on that 24-point deficit vs. the Magic in Game 6, but the comeback, Game 7 smackdown and whatever remains to the Pistons’ 2026 postseason is about the here and now. Coaches J.B. Bickerstaff and Kenny Atkinson will say that each team is better for what it weathered over the past two weeks. We’ll find out, but Detroit’s banging, disruptive defense can grind down the Cavs over a long series.

    Luego del éxito de las temporadas de Acapulco shore, la franquicia de MTV sigue creciendo ahora con Mazatlán shore. Un elenco nuevo llega a las pantallas, pero el espíritu de fiesta viene revolucionado.

    Sorprendió que una de las integrantes de esta primera temporada del reality, que se caracteriza por el degenere, alcohol, ligues, peleas y amistades, sea Yuliana, hija del cantante Julio Preciado.

    Desde que puso un pie en la casa, hizo evidente que no iba a pasar desapercibida y, en su presentación, dijo sin reparo: “Me dedico a que me mantenga mi papá”, hecho que de inmediato dio de qué hablar entre el elenco.

    Las reacciones a su presencia no se hicieron esperar, y Nayeli, otra participante, dijo que no le importaba de quién era hija. Yaritza, otra integrante, también fue de las primeras en lanzar un comentario incómodo, pero Yuliana no cayó en ese momento.

    Los integrantes nos platicaron que no todo fue tensión y, con el paso de los días, algunos de ellos comenzaron a quererla. Nayeli confesó que, a pesar de su comentario inicial, terminó llevándose bien con ella:

    “La convivencia con Yuliana fue, para mí, muy bonita. Hice un clic con ella que no pensé que iba a hacer. Sí dije: ‘¿Quién es esta?’, porque viene muy alzadita, ¿Hija de quién? ¿Por qué? ¿Para qué?’, pero en el transcurso de los días encontré a una persona muy real en la que pude confiar, muy noble”.

    Sin embargo, no todos pensaron lo mismo, y Roxana, otra influencer, reveló que, aunque al principio hubo conexión y hasta se ofreció a protegerla, cada quien fue encontrando su propio camino dentro de la casa.

    “Al inicio muchos conectamos con ella, pero eventualmente uno va encontrando con quién se siente mejor. Primero me hallé superbién con ella, no tengo nada (malo) que decir de ella, al contrario. (Pero) sí creo que todos nos inclinamos por un lado, es parte de… ”.

    Roxana.

    Yaritza, la primera en protagonizar una pelea en el reality, comentó: “Yo, la verdad, cuando llegué, ya estaba hasta la madre. Yo ya no sabía ni quién era. Todos llegamos con el ‘no me importa quién eres’, literal. No me importa qué haces afuera. Todos somos iguales. Incluso confesó que se enteró días después de quién era el papá de Yuliana…

    “A mí cuando me comentaron, dije: ‘Ni siquiera sé quién es el papá’. Yo quiero saber quién es ella. Cuando nosotros entramos, nadie sabe quién es. Éramos personas ‘equis’ allá adentro. Yo me enteré de que Yuliana era hija de Julio Preciado como a la semana, ya que se me pasó la cruda moral (risas)”.

    Nancy también explicó su postura respecto a Yuliana:

    “A mí no me importa de quién eres hija o quién es tu papá, sino quién eres tú como persona. Eso te define, no lo que digan otras personas. La pregunta aquí no es quién es el papá, sino quién es ella. Para mí es ¿qué ofrece? ¿Qué trae? ¿Quién es? ¿Cómo vas a convivir con ella?”.

    Otro de los temas que se pueden ver esta temporada es que, a diferencia de Acapulco shore, ahora también hay besos entre hombres, algo que no era tan común ver en el reality, y menos enuna zona norteña como Mazatlán. Sobre esto, Nancy indicó:

    “Estás relajado, te la estás pasando bien, estás fluyendo… Un besito no se le niega a nadie. Sería un pecado, honestamente. También entre nuestros hombres existe un desliz de vez en cuando y es válido. Es parte de”.

    “Si bien traemos una fiesta muy norteña, al final del día es una fiesta muy joven, moderna, y sabemos que en los tiempos actuales no está mal visto. (Está) un poco más aceptado, diversiones que tal vez nuestros padres no hubieran aceptado”, agregó Alex Sepúlveda.

    Por su parte, Irvin, quien fue uno de los protagonistas de estos besos, comentó si existe temor de las opiniones del público y comparaciones con temporadas anteriores:

    “Hay mucha expectativa, pero miedo, cero. Van a ver que vamos a seguir la línea de los shows de esta franquicia, que ha sido la más vista en Paramount+. Vamos con todo, sin censura, siendo nosotros”.

    “Cada persona aquí es irreverente, somos personas que, literal, nos vale madre lo que la gente opine y diga de nosotros. Facturamos con eso. Aquí cada uno tiene su personalidad muy marcada y todos están locos, parte de un proyecto así, necesitas estar loco de la cabeza. Funados siempre hemos estado; hablando por mí, ya me acostumbré a la funa. Recibo las buenas críticas y las malas también, yo facturo con eso”, concluyó Yaritza.

    Palacios reconoció que hoy en día los números ya pesan, aunque la trayectoria debería contar más. Expresó que, aunque duela, hoy en día los seguidores sí pueden influir a la hora de buscar trabajo.
