The New York Giants signed general manager Joe Schoen to a multiyear contract extension, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Thursday.
Schoen’s extension comes after a trying first four years as the Big Blue GM, during which New York went 22-45-1 with a lone playoff trip during Schoen’s first year in charge. The team elected to stick with Schoen following the 2025 season, which saw head coach Brian Daboll fired amid what turned out to be a 4-13 campaign.
Schoen then led the search for the team’s new head coach, John Harbaugh.
Though the reporting structure will notably be different than in previous years, with Harbaugh reporting to ownership rather than Schoen, New York has enough confidence to maintain consistency in the front office for seasons to come as the Giants hope to enter a new, more successful era moving forward.
Around the NFL will have more shortly.
