AJ Dybantsa announces he is entering 2026 NBA Draft

BYU standout AJ Dybantsa averaged 25.5 ppg last season.

AJ Dybantsa is done playing at BYU and ready to head to the NBA.

In a short video posted to his YouTube channel, Dybantsa says he is entering the 2026 NBA Draft.

In the video, Dybantsa reads a letter he says he wrote when he was 7 years old and hoping to become a basketball player one day. He more than accomplished that in 2025-26, as he lead the nation in scoring with 25.5 points per game as well as 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game as well.

BYU went 23-12 and reached the NCAA Tournament while Dybantsa was a consensus first-team All-American, first-team All-Big 12, won the Julius Irving Award (top small forward) and was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year

NBA Draft Lottery 2026 will be held on Sunday, May 10 and air live on ABC at 3 p.m. ET. The first round of NBA Draft 2026 will take place on Tuesday, June 23, and the second round will take place on Wednesday, June 24.

The Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers and Brooklyn Nets all have a 14% chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick.
