2026 California Classic Summer League: Warriors Gold earn big win over Lakers

SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors Gold defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 104-72, in the 2026 California Classic Summer League at Chase Center on Friday.

Golden State looked dominant in its Summer League debut, maintaining a 20-point lead for the entirety of the second half. It was a 29-10 second quarter that decided things, with the Warriors getting their lead up to 37 points at times.

Golden State shot 63% from the field and 62% from 3-point range while holding Los Angeles to 38 percent from the field and 23 percent from long range. The Warriors Gold doubled up the Lakers in assists, 32-16.

The Lakers (0-1) had only one starter in double figures, with Cameron Carr collecting 19 points and two rebounds. Arthur Kaluma led the bench with 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Adou Thiero tallied nine points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Yaxel Lendeborg shoots 6-for-6 from the field (4-4 3PM) and scores 19 points in a winning Summer League debut.

The Warriors Gold (1-0) were led by their first-round pick, with Yaxel Lendeborg finishing with 19 points, five rebounds and six assists on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting.

All five starters reached double figures in scoring. Will Richard had 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals while Chance McMillian led the bench with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Both teams return to action on Monday, with Golden State facing the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles matching up with the Miami Heat.
