Patriots’ Eliot Wolf: 2026 NFL Draft class not historically great but ‘strong’ at O-line, D-line, WR

The lack of surefire QBs beyond presumptive No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza takes some pizzazz off the 2026 class, but there is a depth of talent at edge rusher and are receivers that can contribute right away. The tight end position is an interesting one because while it might not have many first-round players, there is depth to be found into Day 3.

After picking in the top five each of the past two seasons, the Patriots’ first selection comes at No. 31 overall. New England has 11 total picks, with three coming in the first 100 selections.

“If we do our job and we do everything right, we’re going to be able to get a good player with every pick, and that’s our intention,” Wolf said. “I feel that way about every draft. No matter what happens, there are always avenues and ways to improve the team.”

NFL Network Draft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 draft prospects currently boast 10 edge rushers, eight wide receivers, seven cornerbacks, six offensive tackles, four defensive tackles, four linebackers, three safeties, three interior offensive linemen, two quarterbacks, two running backs and one tight end.
