Love has arrived in the NFL and on the Arizona roster with overwhelming hype following a stellar career at Notre Dame. His skill set is scintillating.
Nonetheless, Pollard is a proven commodity, even if his recognition hasn’t matched his statistics.
Pollard was a Pro Bowler for the Cowboys in 2022, the first of his aforementioned quartet of 1,000-yard campaigns. Only former Titan and current Baltimore Raven Derrick Henry has also run to 1,000 yards in each of the last four NFL seasons.
Not bad company for Pollard.
He had a career-best 1,082 yards on the ground with five touchdowns last season.
For a Titans team coming off back-to-back three-win seasons, there are plenty of roster holes to plug, such as wide receiver, which was addressed with Carnell Tate‘s selection at No. 4. So, with the 29-year-old Pollard already in place to support quarterback Cam Ward and a Tennessee offense taking on offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s new scheme, sticking with the veteran makes sense.
As Pollard and his wife are expecting a fourth child, he’s prepping for his eighth NFL season.
Pollard has played in at least 15 games in each of his seven NFL seasons, having slowly but surely become one of the league’s more dependable running backs, unheralded as he might continue to be.
“The work ethic, everything that I’m doing behind the scenes, it’s paying off,” Pollard said, via The AP. “I slowly feel like throughout my career I’ve just slowly progressed more and more, and I feel like I’m still trending in that direction.”
As the Titans aim to emerge from the AFC South cellar, Pollard figures to be crucial in that endeavor, searching for a fifth 1,000-yard season and to prove that no Love for Tennessee is no problem.

Habrá que ver si Lorenzo los tiene en cuenta como titulares para el partido de este lunes contra Costa Rica, que será la despedida de la selección de la afición colombiana y el regreso del equipo al estadio El Campín, de Bogotá, después de casi siete años de ausencia.

El juego de este lunes será el penúltimo de Colombia antes del debut en la Copa del Mundo contra Uzbekistán, el próximo 17 de junio en Ciudad de México. Antes de eso, el próximo domingo, se enfrentará a otra escuadra clasificada, Jordania, en San Diego (Estados Unidos).

One of the challenges in assessing the Knicks’ chances of winning the franchise’s first championship in 53 years is how scarce they’ve made themselves lately. Winning 11 playoff games in a row got them off the stage awfully fast, yielding the spotlight to the West combatants. Compared to New York’s quick, efficient dispatching of the Sixers and Cavaliers especially, San Antonio hammered out its victory over OKC across seven games, ample exposure of the Spurs’ many strengths and potential weaknesses. Those additional outings gave the young West champions extra time to gel as the title contender they’ve become. But I’m going with the saltier, more veteran-laden team – Jalen Brunson is irrepressible against all defenders and Karl-Anthony Towns will test Victor Wembanyama’s mobility and versatility beyond any big Wemby has faced this spring. Youth must be served, the saying goes – but not yet. Knicks in 6, with Brunson as Finals MVP.

The Knicks paid their dues, suffering playoff defeats the past three seasons before breaking through in historic fashion in 2026, entering the Finals with 11 straight wins and the largest point differential (+271) in playoff history.
Conversely, the Spurs are ahead of schedule, vaulting from 13th in the West a year ago to their first Finals of the Victor Wembanyama era. The Spurs may be the second-youngest team to ever reach the Finals, but their lack of playoff scars didn’t stop them from knocking off the defending champs in Game 7 in OKC. The inexperienced Spurs showed they were ready for the moment. Can they do it again?
With Wembanyama anchoring the defense, San Antonio’s perimeter defenders will look to slow down Jalen Brunson similarly to how they did reigning two-time Kia MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who averaged 25.9 points on 40.9% shooting. The Spurs must also limit live-ball turnovers, which fueled New York’s East onslaughts.

There’s a theory about the championship round — does the hot team win, or the best team? There’s no question about who’s bringing the heat; that would be the Knicks, winners of 11 straight playoff games. They dropped a pair by just a point each. Does that also mean they’re the best team? Well, on a win-quality basis, the Spurs had the tougher route, having to plow through defending champion OKC in seven games. This series should be entertaining and the Knicks certainly feel more urgency — to win a championship for the first time in over five decades, and get it in this short window before the Spurs and Victor Wembanyama get really good and create a dynasty. Therefore, the more desperate team wins — Knicks in 6, with Brunson capturing Finals MVP.

The Knicks have been ridiculously good through the first three rounds, but there are some elements of their success – their own shooting and their opponents’ 3-point shooting – that are unsustainable. They have the highest effective field goal percentage (59.2%) in NBA playoff history, with OG Anunoby, Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges all having seen big jumps from the regular season, while their opponents have shot just 32% on wide-open 3-pointers. Those numbers only need to sustain for 4-7 more games, but that will be tougher against this particular opponent than it was against the previous three. The Knicks have also led the playoffs with 53.3 points in the paint per game, and that number will be greatly reduced against the San Antonio defense. Spurs in 5, with Wembanyama as Finals MVP.

The Knicks are on fire and rolling, and it’s duly noted how well they have played since trailing the Atlanta Hawks 2-1 in the first round – 11 in a row in dominant fashion. However, the series’ wins were against the No. 6 seed, the No. 7 seed and the No. 4 seed, a 4 seed that lost that final three games of the series by an average of 22 points and squandered a 22-point fourth-quarter lead in Game 1. The Knicks have not faced anything like the San Antonio Spurs and Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs have established that their talent and confidence outweigh any playoff inexperience they have. In the playoffs, they managed injuries, Wembanyama’s concussion and a 3-2 deficit to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder to reach the NBA Finals. They play disruptive, physical defense and their ball movement generates the kind of offense that scored 118 points and 111 points in the final two games against the Thunder’s league-leading defense with their season on the line. Spurs in 6, with Wembanyama as Finals MVP.
Nary a member of the New York Jets is likely to look back on the 2025 season with many positives to grasp.
For wide receiver Garrett Wilson, arguably the team’s top talent, it was most certainly a season he’s looking to rebound from, having been held to seven games as he battled knee injuries.
“I’ve got a different standard that I just want to get back to, and that’s the mission,” Wilson said this past week, via the Jets team website’s Randy Lange.
The Jets suffered through a dreadful 3-14 campaign in which they sported the 29th-ranked offense in yards and points, while their defense was similarly frightful (31st in points allowed, 25th in total defense). During their struggles, the Jets also tradedaway defensive standouts Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams.
Perhaps overshadowed was that Wilson was derailed for really the first time in his promising career.
No matter the Jets’ struggles — as they’ve never won more than seven games since he joined the club — Wilson produced in each of his first three seasons. He was the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022, which stood as the first of three consecutive 1,000-yard showings to begin his career. He also never missed a game, but he missed 10 in 2025 with his 1,000-yard streak falling well short after he tallied just 395 yards in seven games.
So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Wilson is on a quest to get back the very high level he’s set since he was taken 10th overall in 2022 out of Ohio State.
“So now it’s just getting back comfortable with playing, getting used to having a guy on me running routes,” said Wilson, who last played in Week 10 of last season. “Stuff you can’t really mimic until you’re doing the real thing. I feel great, but as far as getting back to myself, I’ve got some work to do. I’m excited, though, I’m excited. It’s going to be a journey and, um … yeah, man, I’m not that far off.”
With his ninth NFL season upcoming after joining his third franchise, DJ Moore doesn’t feel a need to sugarcoat matters during the spring, even if so many do.
Just a few days into his new union with the Buffalo Bills, rookie head coach Joe Brady and quarterback Josh Allen, Moore admitted there’s plenty of work to do to get into sync.
“I mean, it’s gonna be perfect later on, but right now it’s still growing pains,” Moore said Tuesday amid organized team activities, via the Buffalo News’ Katherine Fitzgerald.
While Brady is beginning his first tenure as an NFL head coach, he’s coached Moore before during their shared time with the Carolina Panthers in 2020-21. Again, though, Moore admits he’s got work to do to get up to speed.
“I gotta catch back up to him,” Moore said of Brady, who was hired as the Bills’ head coach this offseason after three seasons as the team’s offensive coordinator. “He’s won a lot more games than I have since Carolina, and his offense has evolved into what it is today.”
Moore is coming off a three-year stay with the Chicago Bears, who traded the four-time 1,000-yard receiver to the Bills this offseason. Moore fell short of expectations in 2025 while the Bears ascended to NFC North title status. He recorded career lows of 50 receptions and 682 yards, and infamously came up short on a route that resulted in an overtime interception for the Los Angeles Rams against the Bears in the Divisional Round.
A fresh start with a perennial AFC heavyweight could be just what he needs, especially as he looks to be in line to be a top target for Allen in Brady’s scheme.
“Joe is just trying to get the ball in as many playmakers’ hands as possible, and that’s what it has been so far,” Moore said.
It’s early and growing pains can be expected. This is the time to stretch them out, anyway, whilst also getting to know his new teammates, which has apparently gone swimmingly so far.
“Everybody’s been lovely,” Moore said. “They’re friendly, like everybody gets along, so it’s amazing to see.”

Pero, ¿está Estados Unidos preparado para dar la bienvenida al mundo?
Durante una videoconferencia organizada por American Community Media (ACoM), varios expertos hablaron sobre las preocupaciones que guardan con relación a posibles arrestos y redadas de inmigrantes en las ciudades sede, por lo que están pidiendo una tregua en los operativos de migración.
“La Administración Trump, al menos según los informes indirectos, ha declarado que no llevará a cabo acciones de control ni de aplicación de la ley en los estadios ni en sus alrededores. Con el Super Bowl, no se registró presencia del ICE, y esperamos que ocurra algo similar en los alrededores de los estadios”, dijo Ariel G. Ruiz Soto, analista senior de políticas del Migration Policy Institute.
Sin embargo, señaló que no se trata únicamente de lo que suceda en los alrededores de los estadios, sino en las ciudades y los estados donde estos se encuentran ubicados.
“Esto se debe a que la FIFA también organizó lo que denomina ciudades y zonas anfitrionas distribuidas por los distintos estados; se trata de espacios habilitados para que aquellas personas que no pueden asistir directamente a los partidos tengan la oportunidad de reunirse a ver los partidos y celebrar en comunidad”.
Sostuvo que aún no está claro qué tipo de acciones de control, si es que las habrá, podrían llevarse a cabo también en esas zonas.
“Este aspecto está generando una gran expectación entre las jurisdicciones locales y estatales, que intentan comprender cómo se desarrollará la situación.
Por ello, dijo que cabe esperar que los comités de las ciudades anfitrionas dialoguen con la FIFA para tratar de garantizar que todo transcurra con normalidad.
Afirmó que es improbable que se lleven a cabo deportaciones u operaciones masivas en los estadios y recintos deportivos, o en sus inmediaciones.
“Si algo caracteriza a la Copa del Mundo, es que ha sido y sigue siendo el evento más visto en todo el planeta; por consiguiente, la atención mediática que recaería sobre la administración si ocurriera algo semejante sería, a mi juicio, sumamente perjudicial para ellos en el ámbito internacional”.
Aunque dijo que es posible que el ICE esté presente en los partidos, tal como lo ha estado en ocasiones anteriores, por ejemplo, durante los Super Bowl, incluso bajo administraciones demócratas.
Tregua olímpica
Minky Worden, directora de Iniciativas Globales de Human Rights Watch, dijo que una de las propuestas que Human Rights Watch ha presentado con el apoyo de grupos como la Sport and Rights Alliance y Dignity 2026, es el llamamiento a una tregua con ICE.
“Esta tregua se inspira en la llamada Tregua Olímpica y significa que, durante en el contexto de la Copa del Mundo,no deberían llevarse a cabo redadas ni separaciones de familias”.
Su mayor preocupación es que el evento, que se celebrará en 11 ciudades anfitrionas de Estados Unidos, no se convierta en un epicentro de las operaciones de control y aplicación de la ley por parte de ICE.
Enfatizó que cientos de miles de personas han sido detenidas en Estados Unidos desde el 20 de enero de 2025 .
“En Human Rights Watch hemos entrevistado a personas en las ciudades anfitrionas y en las comunidades afectadas, y hemos escuchado a algunas decirnos: ‘No me importa si me detienen o me deportan, voy a seguir a mi equipo. Amo la Copa del Mundo con locura’ ”.
Dijo que la gran pasión de las familias inmigrantes por la Copa del Mundo, constituye motivos de gran inquietud.
“Varios miembros del Congreso como Nellie Pou de Nueva Jersey, cuyo distrito incluye el MetLife Stadium también han solicitado una pausa en las operaciones de ICE; y contamos con señales de que la FIFA efectivamente ha tomado cartas en el asunto”.
Salvaguardar a niños
Katherine La Puente, coordinadora sénior de derechos de los niños en Human Rights Watch, dijo que durante el último año, junto con otros grupos de derechos humanos, han pedido a la FIFA adoptar una política para garantizar que los niños estén protegidos frente a los riesgos que amenazan sus derechos y a salvo de cualquier abuso durante el desarrollo de los eventos.
“Algunos de los riesgos que enfrentan los niños en el contexto de los grandes eventos deportivos mundiales, como la Copa Mundial, incluyen la trata de personas, la explotación sexual, el trabajo infantil, la separación forzosa, incluida la separación familiar y el desplazamiento”.
Señaló que solo en las últimas semanas, la FIFA ha tomado medidas para aprobar y desarrollar una declaración de salvaguardia de la infancia, así como una política general de protección.
“Nos preocupa que no haya tiempo suficiente para implementar todas estas medidas y asegurar que el personal responsable de la organización de esta Copa Mundial esté adecuadamente capacitado e informado sobre los riesgos que enfrentan los niños y preparado para responder a ellos de manera efectiva”.
Mencionó que un ejemplo de estos riesgos se hizo evidente hace unos meses, cuando Human Rights Watch documentó y expuso el caso de un padre, gran aficionado al fútbol que buscaba asilo y seguridad en Estados Unidos.
“Este hombre había llevado a sus dos hijos pequeños de 10 y 14 años de edad a la final de la Copa Mundial de Clubes celebrada el verano pasado. Mientras esperaban el comienzo del partido, él y sus hijos se encontraban en el estacionamiento del estadio, a las afueras del MetLife Stadium en el norte de Nueva Jersey, haciendo volar un dron recreativo para tomar una fotografía de él y su familia.
“Lamentablemente, fue arrestado por el ICE frente a sus hijos, quienes lloraban desconsoladamente mientras veían cómo se llevaban a la fuerza a su padre, quien permaneció detenido en el Centro Delaney Hall durante tres meses y, finalmente, fue obligado a regresar a su país de origen, donde enfrenta persecución por parte de las mismas personas que, en primer lugar, lo obligaron a huir”.
Expuso que con base en datos proporcionados por el Deportation Data Project, Human Rights Watch constató que desde enero de 2025, más de 167,000 personas han sido arrestadas en las 11 ciudades anfitrionas de Estados Unidos donde se celebrará la Copa Mundial dentro de pocas semanas; con cifras verdaderamente alarmantes en lugares como Miami, Dallas y Houston.
Serias preocupaciones
Jamal Watkins, vicepresidente sénior de estrategia y desarrollo en la NAACP, una de las organizaciones de derechos civiles y humanos más grandes de Estados Unidos, dijo que la llegada de hasta 10 millones de visitantes para el mundial, se desarrolla bajo un telón de fondo marcado por serias preocupaciones en torno a los derechos de los trabajadores, la seguridad, la inmigración, la salud pública, los altos costos.
“El contexto subyacente es sumamente politizado y dista mucho de ser el escenario que desearíamos. Por eso, promovemos un conjunto integral de estándares de equidad racial para garantizar que el torneo no solo se mantenga seguro, sino que también constituya un entorno inclusivo para todos los jugadores, periodistas, aficionados y las comunidades que acogen estos eventos”.
Dijo que han emitido una advertencia de viaje para quienes vengan a la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026, advirtiéndoles de la posible existencia de riesgos sobre graves violaciones de los derechos humanos, especialmente si se tiene en cuenta la participación del ICE y su historial de violencia.
Remarcó que quieren asegurarse de alentar a los asistentes a tomar medidas para protegerse de manera práctica, tales como desactivar las funciones de reconocimiento facial de sus dispositivos electrónicos.
“O bien, informar a familiares y amigos sobre sus patrones y planes de viaje, para que sepan dónde se encontrarán, por si acaso se produjera una crisis de desapariciones extrajudiciales; y mantenerse alertas”.

Compared to New York’s quick, efficient dispatching of the Sixers and Cavaliers especially, San Antonio hammered out its victory over OKC across seven games, ample exposure of the Spurs’ many strengths and potential weaknesses. Those additional outings gave the young West champions extra time to gel as the title contender they’ve become. But I’m going with the saltier, more veteran-laden team – Jalen Brunson is irrepressible against all defenders and Karl-Anthony Towns will test Victor Wembanyama’s mobility and versatility beyond any big Wemby has faced this spring.
