4. TONIGHT: DYBANTSA LEADS WIZARDS VS. WILSON & BULLS

Length. Burst. Buckets.

No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa and No. 4 pick Caleb Wilson have showcased all three in their first Summer League games.

Tonight (8 ET, Prime), the two red-hot rookies go head-to-head as the Wizards face the Bulls.

Wilson (27 ppg) and Dybantsa (25) rank 2nd and 5th, respectively, in Summer League points per game. But their scoring is only part of what makes them so dynamic.

Let’s break down a few of the traits that have made both wings must-watch in Vegas.

AJ Attacking: Dybantsa was the first freshman since his Wizards teammate, Trae Young (2017-18), to win the Division I NCAA scoring title. Additionally, Dybantsa was the only player among the nation’s top seven scorers in 2025-26 to shoot 50% or better from the field.

• A Big Reason Why? His ability to drive and finish through, around or over interior defenders – something he’s already shown in Summer League

Dybantsa stands 6-foot-9 and boasts a 7-foot wingspan. He uses that length defensively, too, as he’s averaged 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.

Complete Caleb: Wilson also boasts a 7-foot wingspan, with athleticism that rivals Dybantsa’s. That blend makes him a nuisance defensively, as opponents are never out of reach – including on the chase-down block below.

It’s the same defensive playmaking that helped him lead UNC in both steals and blocks per game last season.

Young Growth: Wilson also led UNC in scoring last year (19.8 ppg), but he took just 1.1 3PA per game. Through two games in Vegas, he’s gone 10-of-19 (52.6%) from deep.

The early returns are the product of an offseason spent in the gym, said Wilson.

• “Probably like 2,500 to 3,000 shots a day for about 2 1/2 months,” Wilson told CHGO Sports at practice Sunday when asked about his training regimen. “You get more confidence because you’re putting in the work.”

Now, he’ll try to keep that shooting touch rolling against Dybantsa and the unbeaten Wizards tonight (8 ET, Prime).

5. POWELL: PHILLY’S PHILON JR. TURNING HEADS IN VEGAS

Another rookie is raising eyebrows in Las Vegas, and he’s not a top-five pick. In fact, he wasn’t even a Lottery selection.

Labaron Philon Jr., the No. 22 overall pick, is posting 21 points and 6.5 assists through two Summer League games – and doing it in style.

And while Philon Jr. expects “a lot of cooking” from himself, his play now has others believing Philly may have uncovered another Draft gem, writes NBA.com’s Shaun Powell:

“Through two games in Vegas, Philon is separating himself from the collection of players, as is the goal for first-rounders in these contests. He had solid stretches Saturday against the Indiana Pacers when he was the best player on the floor.

“And in his Summer League debut, against the Pistons on Thursday, he was just as good. In both games, he dropped game-deciding baskets down the stretch…

Philon Jr. is set to return to action today as the Sixers open Tuesday’s six-game slate against the Rockets (4 ET, Prime).

Then two more electrifying guards – and top-10 picks – could square off as Mikel Brown Jr. (No. 6) and the Nets meet Darius Acuff Jr. (No. 7) and the Kings (6 ET, Prime).

At 7 ET (ESPN), No. 3 pick Cam Boozer leads the Grizzlies against No. 11 pick Yaxel Lendeborg and the Warriors, before the night wraps up with Bulls-Wizards (8 ET, Prime), Nuggets-Thunder (9 ET, ESPN) and Clippers-Lakers (10 ET, Prime).

Trail Blazers 111, Timberwolves 84: Box Score | Game Detail

LAS VEGAS – The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 111-84, in the 2026 NBA Summer League at Thomas & Mack Center on Monday.

This was a dominant performance from the Trail Blazers, winning all four quarters by at least five points apiece.

They had a 22-point lead at the end of the third quarter and maintained a double-digit lead for the entirety of the second half. Portland shot 52 percent from the field and 31 percent from 3-point range while holding Minnesota to 40 percent from the field and 21 percent from long range.

The Trail Blazers also outscored the Timberwolves in points off turnovers, 18-1, and in fastbreak scoring, 17-6.

The Timberwolves (1-2) were led by Donovan Williams, who finished with 21 points, two rebounds and two assists. Zyon Pullin provided 16 points, four rebounds, 10 assists and two steals. Rocco Zikarsky compiled 18 points and six rebounds, while Trey Kaufman-Renn led the bench with 10 points and six boards.

The Trail Blazers (1-2) were led by Chris Youngblood, collecting 20 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Yang Hansen had numerous highlight plays and finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Quincy Olivari amassed 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. Jaylen Martin led the bench with 14 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals.

On deck for Minnesota is a matchup with the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday (3:30 ET, Prime Video). As for Portland, they play the Denver Nuggets on Thursday (10 ET, Prime Video).

Jazz 80 Bulls 63: Box Score | Game Detail

LAS VEGAS – Dominant team efforts on defense and in the paint fueled the Utah Jazz to an 80-63 victory over the Chicago Bulls in a 2026 NBA Summer League matchup at Thomas and Mack Center on Monday night.

Playing without the resting Darryn Peterson, the Jazz struggled with offensive efficiency but made up for it on the other end of the floor. Utah forced 24 turnovers from Chicago and limited the Bulls to 18 points or fewer in each of the first three quarters.

The Jazz also did plenty of damage near the basket, outscoring the Bulls by a 44-22 margin in the paint.

Utah held a 22-18 advantage after the first 10 minutes and ran its lead to nine points by halftime.

In Peterson’s absence, Jonas Aidoo led the Jazz with 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Orlando Robinson finished with a bench-high 14 points and nine boards, while Matthew Cleveland turned in 13 points, five rebounds and three assists. Blake Hinson supplied 12 points and four boards, and Justin Harmon compiled 11 points, three rebounds and two assists.

No. 4 overall pick Caleb Wilson paced the Bulls with 19 points. Wilson added eight rebounds, two assists, five blocks and two steals. Jaylin Sellers was the only other double-digit scorer for Chicago with 13 points.

Noa Essengue managed six points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.

No. 15 overall pick Dailyn Swain went 0-for-9 from the floor but did contribute nine rebounds.

The Bulls are back in action Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards (8 ET, Prime Video), while the Jazz tangle with the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night (9:30 ET, Prime Video).

LAS VEGAS — The 2026 NBA Summer League reached the midway point and the best way to describe the Monday standouts was that they were unique.

First: The younger brother of an NBA star looked like a Summer League one himself.

Second: It was a very good night for second-round picks.

Add more good performances from Cam Boozer and Caleb Wilson, two of the premier players in this tournament, and there was more than enough good basketball in Vegas.

Here are the players who made a mark on Day 5 of the tournament:

Meleek Thomas, Cleveland Cavaliers

It’s time to “leek” some breaking news — Meleek Thomas is making a strong bid for being the top player in the tournament. For the second straight night he dominated, with 35 points on 14-for-23 shooting (60.9%) and a pair of steals against Miami. The previous night he dropped 30 against the Pistons. He looks comfortable in his own skin and an NBA uniform, and keep in mind, he lasted until the Second Round of the 2026 NBA Draft. Entering the tournament, the Arkansas guard who drew the most interest was first-rounder Darius Acuff Jr. Well, that has changed. Thomas, with a silky game, looks like the steal of the draft, at least here in summer league.

Kobe Johnson, Atlanta Hawks

Will the Hawks have a Johnson & Johnson connection next season? Well, that’s up to Kobe, younger brother of Jalen. And the vibes he’s giving off in Vegas, and especially against the Celtics, is pointing in a positive direction. Kobe had a strong two-way performance — 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting, seven rebounds, four assists, a pair of steals and a block versus Boston. He looked very Jalen-like, in other words. And he did this off the bench.

Jalen of course was All-NBA last season in what was a star turn for him. As for Kobe, he spent time in the Hawks’ G-League and development program. If he keeps this up, the Hawks will have an interesting decision to make this fall. Kobe showed a solid give-and-go two-man game with …

Henri Veesaar, Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks went into the draft looking for a 7-footer to add to a squad that lacked size. And that search went into the Second Round. When they drafted Veesaar, it appeared to be a steal. Well, so far, so solid for Veesaar. He’s shooting 18-for-33 in the tournament, including 41% from deep. That’s what attracted the Hawks to him, his ability to stretch the floor. Against the Celtics he had 20 points and added a block and a steal.

Caleb Wilson, Chicago Bulls

The Bulls were in the process of losing big to the Utah Jazz when Wilson came to life in the fourth quarter. He took over the period and at one point scored seven straight points. All told, he scored 12 in the fourth and once again showed the desire to be top-flight player in these situations. Wilson finished with 19 points in this, just his second game of the tournament. He shot 8-for-17, had five blocks and displayed an aggressive approach, especially on a vicious fourth-quarter dunk, in the losing cause.

Cam Boozer, Memphis Grizzlies

The No. 3 pick had a solid night and once again showed double-double potential, this time against the Mavericks. Boozer finished with 21 points and eight rebounds with three steals. He didn’t face a top matchup; the Mavs lacked a top-flight draft pick or second-year player to throw at him. Still, Boozer has been consistently good in this tournament, and he signed his rookie contract just hours prior to tipoff. He had 23 in his first game and is shooting 47% from deep.

Brayden Burries, Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks are on the road to rebuilding here in the wake of the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade and they could use all the good news they can get from this tournament. Burries must’ve heard the calling because he responded against the Suns with 23 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals — a complete, both-ends effort. The 6-foot-4 first rounder from Arizona was among six guards taken in the top 10. In his previous game, he had 26 points against the Spurs.

Koa Peat, Phoenix Suns

The final first round selection in the June draft, Peat nearly slipped into the second round. He thought he should’ve been taken higher and is making a point to issue that statement in this tournament. Against the Bucks, the power forward had 19 points and six rebounds and finished with a plus-18 in a closely contested game. He and center Khaman Maluach, last year’s No. 1 pick by the Suns, ruled the front line in this game; Maluach added 21 points and 10 rebounds for his second straight double-double.

Suns 95 Bucks 88: Box Score | Game Detail

LAS VEGAS – The Phoenix Suns defeated the Milwaukee Bucks, 95-88, in the 2026 NBA Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Monday.

There were nine ties and 18 lead changes in this game, with neither team grabbing a double-digit lead.

Milwaukee led 87-84 with 2:30 remaining, but Phoenix closed the game on an 11-1 run to prevail. The Suns outrebounded the Bucks, 52-39, while out-assisting them 22-15. Phoenix also shot 43.7% from the field and 44.1% from 3-point range while holding Milwaukee to 41.8% from the field and 37.1% from deep

The Suns (2-1) were led by Khaman Maluach, who posted 21 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and four blocks. First-round pick Koa Peat provided 19 points and six rebounds.

Darius Brown had 14 points, two rebounds and five assists, while Koby Brea compiled 19 points and two assists.

The Bucks (0-3) were led by one of their first-round picks, with Brayden Burries tallying 23 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals. Bogoljub Markovic amassed 16 points and eight rebounds. Brandon Boston led the bench with 17 points and two assists.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday, with Milwaukee matching up with the Charlotte Hornets (7:30 ET, Prime Video) and Phoenix facing the Detroit Pistons (6 ET, ESPNU).

Mavericks 96 Grizzlies 88: Box Score | Game Detail

LAS VEGAS — Darin Green Jr. scored 18 points off the bench to help the Dallas Mavericks defeat the Memphis Grizzlies, 96-88, at the 2026 NBA Summer League on Monday.

A whopping 51 of the Mavs’ 96 points came off the bench.

The Mavericks held a three-point cushion when the fourth quarter started. The Grizzlies came close to evening things up, as the game was tied eight times, but Dallas didn’t allow Memphis to mount a fourth-quarter comeback.

Green Jr. added five assists, three rebounds and two steals to his team-leading 18 points. Jaden Springer notched 17 points and Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu had 16 while shooting 7-for-8 from the floor.

First-round pick Sergio De Larrea (16 points, 12 assists) and Jorge Diaz-Graham (11 points, 10 rebounds) sparked the starting unit for a Mavericks team that shot 50.8% from the floor and 46.2% from 3.

Cameron Boozer, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, led all players with 21 points while adding eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

2025 No. 11 overall Cedric Coward added 17 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, and Olivier-Maxence Prosper added 18 points with five boards. No other Memphis player scored in double digits, and the team shot 37.2% from the floor and 28.6% from 3-point range.

The Mavericks will play their next Summer League game against the Thunder at Thomas & Mack Center on Thursday (4 ET, Prime Video). Meanwhile, the Grizzlies will play on a back-to-back when they take on the Golden State Warriors at the Pavilion on Tuesday (7 ET, ESPN).
