  • Tadej Pogacar y Egan Bernal, listos para una tremenda batalla en el Tour de Francia: bienvenidos a la etapa 15 con final muy colombiano

    Este domingo finalizará la segunda semana del Tour de Francia con un exigente final en un puerto inédito para la carrera, un escenario que promete una intensa batalla entre los favoritos de la clasificación general.

    La agencia EFE informó que el Plateau de Solaison será el primer final en un puerto de categoría especial (fuera de categoría) de esta edición. La meta coronará una etapa de 183,9 kilómetros con salida en Champagnole, que incluirá otros tres puertos de montaña en una jornada de transición entre el macizo del Jura y los Alpes.

    En la víspera del segundo día de descanso, el pelotón descubrirá un ascenso que ya fue escenario del Tour del Porvenir, donde el colombiano Miguel Ángel López ganó en 2014. También se utilizó en el Critérium del Dauphiné, con triunfos del danés Jakob Fuglsang (2017), su compatriota Jonas Vingegaard (2022) y el mexicano Isaac del Toro en la presente temporada.

    Los 11,3 kilómetros de ascenso al 9 por ciento de pendiente media ofrecen el terreno ideal para una batalla entre los principales aspirantes al título, en un puerto que aspira a convertirse en uno de los grandes escenarios del Tour de Francia en los próximos años.

    EFE indicó que la ronda francesa llevaba varias temporadas estudiando la posibilidad de incluir esta estación de la Alta Saboya, que ofrece una imponente vista del Mont Blanc y reúne las características para consolidarse como un final habitual en futuras ediciones.

    La parte más exigente del puerto, con rampas superiores al 10 por ciento, ya fue recorrida durante la octava etapa del Tour de Francia de 2021, antes de que la carrera se desviara hacia Le Grand-Bornand, donde el esloveno Tadej Pogacar se enfundó el maillot amarillo, una prenda que no volvió a perder hasta conquistar su segundo título en la ronda francesa.

    En esta ocasión, la estrecha carretera conducirá directamente al Plateau de Solaison, punto culminante de una jornada con 3.950 metros de desnivel positivo acumulado.

    Antes del ascenso final, el Col de la Croisette, con 4,7 kilómetros al 11,2 por ciento de pendiente media y rampas que superan el 12 por ciento, aparece como el lugar ideal para lanzar un ataque. Su cima está situada a 47,9 kilómetros de la meta, antes del paso por la cota de Mont, de tercera categoría, último obstáculo previo al ascenso definitivo.

    LAS VEGAS – Brayden Burries dropped a game-high 27 points, including the game-winning layup in the final seconds, to help the Bucks defeat the 76ers, 96-94, in their 2026 Las Vegas Summer League finale on Saturday.

    Burries, the No. 10 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, knocked down 9 of his 18 shots and dished out five assists in 28 minutes.

    Milwaukee grabbed an early 28-22 advantage after the opening quarter, but the Sixers responded to sneak a 51-50 lead into the halftime break.

    Philadelphia and Milwaukee exchanged blows in the second half, with both teams taking two separate leads.

    The Sixers took a 74-69 edge into the final frame, but the Bucks poured in the first 10 points of the fourth to secure a lead they would never relinquish.

    The Bucks’ second 2026 lottery pick Nate Ament (No. 13 overall) tallied nine of his 12 points in the first quarter. He finished 5-for-10 from the field with seven rebounds.

    Kam Jones (pick No. 38 in the 2025 NBA Draft) flashed with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals for Milwaukee.

    Pete Nance provided 11 points, while John Butler Jr. chipped in 10 points (3-3 FGs) off the bench.

    Gerald Ayayi paced five Sixers in double-figures scoring with 22 points on 7-for-13 shooting. Dante Maddox Jr. and Nick Townsend each scored 15 points apiece. Isaac Johnson and Mylik Wilson supplied 10 points each.

    Both squads wrapped up Summer League play with 2-3 records.

    LAS VEGAS — The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Houston Rockets, 101-90, in the 2026 NBA Summer League semifinal at Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday.

    The Grizzlies were led by Cedric Coward, who finished with 28 points, six rebounds and five assists.

    Memphis will play the winner of the Warriors-Lakers matchup in the 2026 Las Vegas Summer League Championship.

    The Grizzlies led 24-9 after the first quarter and got their lead up to as much as 22 points. They led by at least seven points for the final three quarters.

    Memphis shot 94% (17-for-18) from the free-throw line while the Rockets shot just 60% (6-for-10). Memphis outrebounded Houston, 47-35, and got 20 second chance points to just 10 for Houston.

    Javon Small had 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Memphis. No. 3 overall pick Cameron Boozer provided 12 points, 12 rebounds and five assists while Jahmai Mashack led the bench with 15 points.

    The Rockets were led by Quadir Copeland, collecting 24 points while Iasiah Crawford compiled 12 points and eight rebounds.

    Bruce Thornton tallied eight points, eight rebounds and seven assists while Daishen Nix led the bench with 16 points.

    LAS VEGAS – The Wizards defeated the Hawks, 91-83, in the 2026 NBA Summer League finale for both teams on Saturday.

    Washington held the lead for all but a few minutes in this game after a 24-15 first quarter. The Wizards closed on a 22-17 run over the final seven minutes.

    The Wizards shot 44% from the field and 39% from 3-point range while holding the Hawks to 42% from the field and 16% from long range. Washington also out-assisted Atlanta, 22-18.

    The Wizards were led by John Camden, compiling 22 points, while Chris Livingston provided 20 points and five rebounds.

    Reece Beekman tallied 13 points, six rebounds and 14 assists, while the No. 46 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft Felix Okpara finished with 12 points and eight rebounds.

    The Hawks were led by Devon Higgs, finishing with 22 points and seven rebounds. Gabe Madsen had 13 points.

    Kobe Johnson collected 13 points, while Isaiah Wong had nine points and nine rebounds.

    Magic win 103-99

    Malik Reneau (19 pts on 6-for-7 shooting in 18:20) and Au’Diese Toney (18 pts, 2 3PM, 6 reb, 4 ast) lifted Orlando over Boston, as the Magic separated with a 36-23 third quarter.

    Reneau was named First Team All-ACC in his senior season at Miami, leading the team with 18.9 ppg, after previously winning back-to-back high school national championships with Monteverde Academy.

    Toney scored 12.2 ppg for the Noblesville Boom of the G League last season, shooting 46% from 3-point range on 3.9 3PA.

    Caleb Grill (18 pts, 4 3PM), who won the G League championship last season with the Greensboro Swarm, was the top scorer for the Celtics.

    The game saw 10 lead changes and five ties.

    The Kings defeated the Hornets 92-90 to open Friday’s action in a contest that saw eight lead changes, overcoming a double-double from No. 14 pick Hannes Steinbach (22 pts, 11 reb).

    The Cavaliers beat the Bulls 100-91, as No. 34 pick Meleek Thomas (24 pts, 3 3PM) turned in another strong scoring performance.

    The Mavericks shot 18-for-39 (46.2%) from 3-point range to knock off the Knicks 110-88.

    Tre Donaldson (20 pts, 8 reb, 10 ast) capped his Summer League in style as the Heat came back to beat the Pistons 101-87.

    Friday night ended with two thwarted comeback attempts, as the Jazz defeated the Trail Blazers 83-79 behind Justin Harmon (21 pts) and the Clippers beat the Timberwolves 128-120 in overtime, led by Keaton Wagler (26 pts) and Sean Pedulla (24 pts, 11 ast).

    Aymeric Laporte, zaguero central de la Selección de España, le puso picante a la final del Mundial que se jugará este domingo en el MetLife Stadium de Nueva Jersey, al hablar del supuesto juego sucio al que apela Argentina.

    Laporte, en declaraciones divulgadas por DSports, dijo que con Argentina han sido algo permisivos.

    “Creo que eso no se debería de dejar, sobre todo en competiciones tan grandes, porque te pueden desestabilizar, te pueden cabrear y eso creo que es parte del trabajo de un árbitro, controlar estas cosas y que al final no le coman la tostada al árbitro. Al final, si un jugador puede hacerlo o dos, pues el partido va a ser un descontrol”, concluyó.

    Luis de la Fuente bajó la tensión y elogió a Argentina

    Ya el supuesto juego sucio de Argentina había sido tema de conversación en la rueda de prensa previa a la final, que se hizo el viernes, y el seleccionador español, Luis de la Fuente, lo desestimó.

    “Va a ser un grandísimo espectáculo. Hay dos superequipos. Con muchas similitudes, en talento de futbolistas… En un primer planteamiento, ambas lo hacemos con la idea de que la brillantez y el buen juego dominen las circunstancias. Luego, que el árbitro cuide los detalles para que el espectáculo sea del nivel de una final de un Mundial”, dijo De la Fuente.

    “Yo respeto las opiniones de todo el mundo. Tengo una admiración extraordinaria por una selección que es dos veces campeona de América, campeona del Mundo, ganó una Finalissima y está dirigida por un amigo mío. Solo tengo admiración y reconocimiento. Cada uno usaremos nuestras armas futbolísticas”, complementó.

    “Deberíamos haberte dado un mejor final, pero no lo logramos”, escribió Kylian Mbappé, quien este sábado rindió homenaje a Didier Deschamps, que dirigirá su último partido al frente de la selección de Francia tras 14 años en el banquillo, en el duelo por el tercer puesto del Mundial 2026 frente a Inglaterra.

    “Hoy es tu último baile. Tú, que tanto nos has dado. Deberíamos haberte dado un mejor final, pero no lo logramos”, publicó el capitán y goleador francés en sus redes sociales, en un mensaje dirigido a su seleccionador.

    “Poner en palabras lo que has aportado durante 14 años es muy difícil. Has sido un actor fundamental en la renovación de este equipo. La gente no siempre supo apreciar tu grandeza, pero el tiempo y la historia se encargarán de hacerlo”, añadió Mbappé, en alusión a las críticas que Deschamps recibió durante años por el estilo de juego de la selección, considerado por muchos demasiado conservador.

    El delantero del Real Madrid también quiso expresar un agradecimiento más personal a “DD” por haberle “dado la oportunidad de representar a mi país en el mayor escenario durante tantos años”.

    Inglaterra le sacó rápido una buena ventaja a Francia y, por ahora, se queda con el tercer lugar de la Copa Mundial de la Fifa 2026.

    El primer gol del partido llegó en el minuto 3, cuando Declan Rice recuperó un balón y avanzó hasta el borde del área, donde sacó un remate que dejó sin opciones al portero Mike Maignan. Fue su primer gol en la Copa del Mundo.

    Luego, a los 22, Rice se anotó su tercera asistencia en los Mundiales y la segunda en esta edición, al cobrar un tiro de esquina en el que Ezri Konsa ganó de cabeza y consiguió el 2-0 parcial. 

    En el minuto 36, Inglaterra aprovechó un contraataque y anotó el 0-3, en los pies de Bukayo Saka, luego de un doble intento que controló Maignan. 

    Saka anotó su segundo tanto en el partido en el minuto 45+1, con un remate cruzado desde el borde del área. 

    Tras el descanso, Kylian Mbappé logró, por fin, el premio a su esfuerzo y anotó el descuento, en el minuto 48.

    Tre Donaldson (20 pts, 8 reb, 10 ast) capped his Summer League in style as the Heat came back to beat the Pistons 101-87.

    Friday night ended with two thwarted comeback attempts, as the Jazz defeated the Trail Blazers 83-79 behind Justin Harmon (21 pts) and the Clippers beat the Timberwolves 128-120 in overtime, led by Keaton Wagler (26 pts) and Sean Pedulla (24 pts, 11 ast).
